Founded in 1990 as a branch of Egyptian medical association it is an independent nonprofit organization and does not issue licenses. The internist receive necessary medical education and adequate clinical training for prophyiaxis, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect adults and adolescents after infancy and childhood before and without surgical interference.

The society transfer and propagate medical knowledge through annual congress, seminars, conferences.
